APRIL'S HERE!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Hope you started you're short workout already, to jump start you're metabolism.
After having such a long winter, it's going to be a short period of time before you pull out those shorts and swimwear to make sure that they are not too snug and put away those winter clothes.
Spring and summer sports have started so you want to make sure you and you're child has a great workout to perform at their best in their chosen sports. Go to my website WWW.MYKIDSBFIT.COM and click on some sample exercises to get you started. For more exercises you can go on the order page and order my DVD, it will teach you all types of exercises to make you a better person or better athlete.
Did you watch you're food intake and label read? If you keep a food journal it will be very helpful on keeping you on the right track. You just jot down everthing that you ate and drank(water) in the course of the day, also the time you consumed both. There should be a 2 to 3 hour span between your meals and snacks which totals 5 times you consume food. breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner which totals 5. Make sure you get all five, this will keep you from binge eating and keep your metabolism working properly and gaining weight. Don't consume more calories than needed. If you consume more than required your body will slowly put on weight. Make sure you burn off those excess calories. 1500-2000kcals is average depending upon age and activity level.

TWELVE WEEKS TIL SUMMER !!!!!

Hi, Everyone
Hope you started you're first week of spring off with a bang. There are 12 weeks until summer, so its never too late to get started on an exercise program. Go on my website MYKIDSBFIT.COM, there are some sample exercises you can view. My DVD shows you all types of different exercises that will give you an all over body changing workout. It is very important to workout every muscle group. Remember diet is important as well, the two have to go hand and hand. The general population always consumes more carbohydrates than needed and these portions are just too large, it is very important to label read what you are eating. Just remember palm size of hand or you're fist for carbohydrates or protein depending on level of activity. Also remember to snack between meals so you don't over eat,VERY IMPORTANT!!!!.

Here are are a few exercises you can do to get you started. Start by going up and down a flight of stairs about 20 times, run in place for 1 minute, jumping jacks 1 minute, than do squats, put a chair behind you with you're legs shoulder width apart and 8 inches away from chair and start by tilting you're pelvis (backside) backwards towards chair, tap chair and immediately stand up,repeat for 50 reps. This short program will get you started to a better healthier you. When you go to my website you can also click the order page to order my DVD, I will guide you through each and every excercise and show you proper form to prevent any type of injury.

Now get off that couch and lets get started!!!!

Take care,

SPRING IS HERE

It's time to get off the couch, put down those video games and get started moving towards a healthier lifestyle. Spring has arrived and it is a perfect time for the whole family to start an exercise program and to start eating healthier.

Start by taking light brisk walks after dinner instead of having dessert, don't let yourself get too comfortable after dinner. Get moving to burn those calories you had taken in during the course of the day. When you get started you can increase you're time and distance, also after getting started you can incorporate light weights and bands for resistance which will burn more calories than just taking a brisk walk. Now when you get home after your walk or workout you can have a light snack. Some healthy snack suggestions are yogurt, fruit, Jello or 8oz of air popped popcorn. Choose you're snacks wisely.

For some more exercise ideas, please visit my website, www.mykidsbfit.com. There you will find exercise videos, nutritional information and a page where you can order our fitness equipment and video.

New Year - New Habits - New You

Hey gang - Hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season. As we get back into the swing of things, you may notice that your kids are complaining that their jeans are too tight and that they are too tired to go outside.

Well, it's time for them to get off that couch and get active. We are developing a group program for kids fitness which teaches techniques and exercises that will help your kids develop healthy lifestyle habits.

We had great success this past fall with this program at Ss. Peter & Paul Elementary School in Glenn Mills, PA. So successful, in fact, that people are asking for the program at their Childrens schools. If you are interested in participating in such a program, please let us know.

More details are to follow, so check in with us soon.

You can contact us at info@mykidsbfit.com.

Take care and GET OFF THAT COUCH!!

Kids Holiday Workouts

Hello Gang –
I’ve gotten back a lot of positive feedback from the kids and parents from Ss. Peter & Paul Elementary School, which was featured in last week’s blog. The kids said they felt very energetic for the rest of the school day after doing our quick circuit. Many of them have adopted a program suitable for home! Success!! If you are interested in a kids group fitness program, please don’t hesitate to call.

Now that the Holidays are in full swing, are you managing your caloric intake as we have been discussing over the past few blogs? I hope so. Temptations are everywhere during the Holidays and your kids are exposed to cookies, sweets, treats and double mocha hot chocolate latte smoothies with whip cream and caramel, etc, etc, etc!
Even though it’s cold outside, your kids should get bundled up and go outside and play. The fresh air in their lungs will feel good and help offset some of the impurities that they are breathing in at home such as dust from forced hot air ductwork. (Sick Air Syndrome). Also, the aerobic benefits of running around to keep warm will offset some of the calories of the treats.

When the kids come in, treat them to some hot chocolate. In fact, there are a number of sugar-free hot chocolates on the market, which your kids will love. Keep the treats out of reach and dispense in moderation. And when it’s really too cold to go outside, you can exercise along with my video. To find out how you can order my video, visit www.mykidsbfit.com. Meanwhile, check out the video below for a sample exercise.

Entering the teenage years

Hey Gang – Hope you all had a great weekend.
Over the last few months mykidsbfit.com has been teaching a gym class at SS Peter & Paul Elementary School in Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania. Every week we had the pleasure of working with 8th grade boys and girls, which is a critical age for long- term development.

At age 13, kids are really coming into their own. They are developing interests, setting goals, finding independence and are beginning to make important decisions that directly affect their future.

Some of these decisions include which high schools to attend, which clubs to join, favorite music, relationships (gasp!) and extra-curricular activities. At this age, children are technically savvy, are developing political and charitable ideals and are very image conscience. They also are extremely vulnerable to peer pressure.

It is critical as parents to communicate with you child, respect their opinions, give them a little space and affirm how wonderful they are. It is also very important to make sure they keep activity in their lives. If they choose extra-curriculars that are not athletic, then it is even more important to make sure they stay active. The kids at Ss Peter & Paul are an awesome bunch of kids and I will miss them now that the program is over. What they did come away with is a great program of exercises, which they can follow at home at their own pace. Below is a quick video of the kids hard at work!

If your kids are in a school in the Greater Philadelphia region that may be interested in our program, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@mykidsbfit.com.

Thanks and take care - Diana
